The Department of Communicable Diseases and Environmental Determinants of Health of the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) and the Special Program for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR) from WHO, have selected the Laboratory of Molecular Biology of Chagas Disease (Director Alejandro Schijman) of the Institute for Research in Genetic Engineering and Molecular Biology to receive the subsidy to implement the project “Diagnosis early molecular diagnosis of congenital Chagas: Transfer and implementation in maternity wards of public health institutions”. This project is part of the call for applications for operational research to support the elimination of communicable diseases in Latin America and the Caribbean.
